Our reputation has been built by our people. And with over 100 highly qualified employees, we’re proud to be a team of technically capable and hard-working specialists, many of whom are long-standing employees.
Our team includes plumbers, pipefitters, AC engineers, electrical engineers, CAD & Revit designers, estimators and contracts managers. And with 10 sponsored apprentices we’re investing heavily in the next generation of MEP professionals. Many of our current employees joined us as apprentices – we even have directors who joined as apprentices many years ago!

Barry Kennedy CEO
Barry started with Priory Mechanical back in 1976 as an apprentice plumber. His first job was working at The All England Lawn Tennis Club at Wimbledon; he worked there every year until our last project in 2010 fitting the sliding roof to Centre Court.
Barry has worked through the ranks from plumber to site foreman, then to supervisor, contract manager and eventually as Technical Director. He became Managing Director in 1993 and is also a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of CIBSE.

In 2021, Barry stepped down as Managing Director and assumed the role of CEO for Priory where he continues to play an active role in the strategic direction of the business.

Sam KennedyManaging Director
Sam joined the family business in 2004 and is the third generation of the Kennedy family to work for Priory.
First joining as an apprentice, he has worked in various roles across the business and has more recently developed strategies that have contributed towards our growth.

Sam was appointed to the position of Commercial Director in 2014 where he managed the financial and commercial functions.

In 2021 Sam took over the role of Managing Director from Barry, assuming responsibility of the day to day operations of Priory.

Paul MolyneauxOperations Director
Paul joined us the day after his sixteenth birthday as an apprentice plumber. Fast forwards a few years and he’s now our Projects Director having worked across several different roles before his promotion in 2012.

As a hands-on and highly involved member of the team, Paul enjoys finding innovative approaches to our work and is involved in nearly every project we do.

Peter SponderTechnical Director
Peter trained with one of the large multi-disciplined, design-build contractors before becoming a consultant. He is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of CIBSE.

Peter returned to design-build when he joined Priory to develop the design and drawing office aspects of the business.

He was appointed as our Technical Director in 2012.

Eddie EllisAssociate Director - Environmental Services
Eddie joined Priory in 1980 as an apprentice plumber and has worked as plumbing technician, supervisor and project manager.

Eddie has assisted in establishing Priory’s aftercare and maintenance division and now assumes responsibility of the day to day operations.

Eddie became Associate Director for Environmental Services in July 2012.

Simon ThompsonOperations Director - Electrical Services
Simon graduated from university with a degree in business but has always had an interest in lighting and design. He completed an electrical apprenticeship and gained broad experience in the electrical industry, before starting his company “Eccentricity” in 2006.The company focused on the prime residential sector, with attention to detail being key to it’s success and they have been lucky to work with some of the worlds top designers on award winning projects.

Simon has a hands on management style, becoming involved in projects with an understanding of what clients are wanting to achieve.

In 2021 Simon merged Eccentricity to form part of the Priory team to offer exemplary service over a wide field of expertise.

CONTRACTS & ESTIMATING

Experienced and technically skilled, our estimating and contracting team make sure our projects are planned and implemented in the best and most cost-effective way.
With strong people management, excellent communication skills and a solid approach to project creation, we provide accurate and clear pricing. This is supported with Ensign Advanced Contracting software, guaranteeing you an accurate price for smoother project management.

CONTRACTS & ESTIMATING

DESIGN TEAM

Specialist designers with a collaborative approach.

Our design team works alongside our installation teams, creating the designs that provide the basis for our work. Their detailed and complex 3D walkthroughs give clients confidence in the project and a valuable feel for the final result.

As CAD and Autodesk Revit specialists, our design team often collaborate with architects and engineers from external suppliers to deliver high-quality projects.

A year later I made the transition into the office to undertake the role of Assistant Estimator. Priory offered me another amazing opportunity to further my understanding of the industry and study Building Services Engineering (HNC). I graduated in 2019 and now work within the Contracts and Estimating department as Lead Estimator. I look forward to many more years working for Priory.”
